Meagan Johnson: February 17 – March 15
As an artist from a small town in Arkansas and currently living in the colorful vistas of Salt Lake City, I find inspiration for my photography and paintings in the world around me.
I thrive on variety and moved to Utah specifically to pursue my dream in sports photography and surround myself with landscapes that inspire me. My day job consists of creating photo and video content for Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals. Much of my free time is consumed with painting and photographing landscapes, portraits, and various events. Niching into a specific category of art is an impossible task for me. I see my various experiences as a chance to bring the knowledge I’ve gained from one field into the next.
Much of my current work is a reflection of cross-country road trips I have taken, with a particular affinity for the West Coast. Western landscapes have always caught my attention with their vibrant colors and warmth. I love experimenting with paint and am drawn to oil, watercolor, and
coffee as my preferred mediums.
I usually don’t create with specific themes in mind or predetermined meanings. For me, art is an exploration, a personal challenge, and above all, a joyful process. Each brushstroke and click of the camera is an opportunity for me to push myself creatively and immerse myself in the sheer joy of creating.
Anne Kaferle: March 16 – April 7
Artist Statement: In my work, paint echoes the geologic processes of deposition and erosion. Gravity plays as much a role as direct mark-making. I reflect on the humbling vastness of our planet, the time scales over which this world changes, and the balance between its elements: sky, stone, water, life.
Anne lives in Helper, Utah.
Abigale Palmer: April 20 – May 17
Artist Bio: Abigale Palmer holds degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. Her work explores the subtle moments of joy so easily missed in the rapid pace of modern life. Her use of unworldly color combinations applied to everyday objects and scenarios helps remind us how brilliant and delicious the ordinary can be. An avid plein air painter, Abigale has participated and won awards from multiple plein air competitions in Utah. Her work can be found in Galleries in Utah and California as well as featured on an episode of BYUtv series Artful. From still life, to larger than life portraits and 20ft wide landscapes, a bold use of color and energy is found throughout her work and life. Abigale lives and works in Provo, Utah with her husband and five young children.
Artist Statement: Obsessed with color since childhood, I use oil paint and watercolors to create bright bold imagery. Having my home base in Utah, my work often features the diverse landscapes that I am surrounded by. I create high chroma representations of mountains, fields and desert landscapes exploring themes of chasing our dreams and aspirations with all the beauty and adversity that come with it. Studying color and the breadth of human emotion it conveys from the light and whimsical to the deep, dark, and heavy corners of our capacity to feel has a large impact on my work. Using unworldly combinations of color in an effort to convey the range of emotions that accompany the human experience through large energetic contemporary landscapes.

We recently have expanded the Visiting Artist program around the resort to now include a Quarterly Visiting Artist in the Spa and in the hallway between the General Store and the Deli.
