CURRENT INFORMATION
Sundance Mountain Resort is open for skiing and snowboarding. Day Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the ticket office.
Sundance values the health and safety of our guests, as well as that of our employees and community. While we realize participating in ski/snowboard activities in an outdoor environment is inherent to physical distancing, we believe that as a resort, we should do everything we can to operate safely and reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19.
Our guests’ behavior will be the key to to keeping our mountain open during this pandemic. By being prepared, self-sufficient, and adhering to our resort’s procedures, as well as local and state Covid-19 health guidelines, guests and employees can work together to collectively reduce the risk of all of us losing our season to Covid-19.
Sundance requires that guests wear face coverings while visiting the property. Please join us in slowing the spread by correctly wearing face coverings (over mouth and nose) in all buildings, public areas, walkways, in lines, while loading lifts, and in areas where physical distancing is not possible. Guests are permitted to remove their face coverings when seated in dining areas or in outdoor areas where physical distancing is possible. We reserve the right to refuse service to those who do not wear a face covering.
Come prepared to enjoy the winter activities Sundance has to offer!
Please review our health screening before coming to Sundance.

All Sundance guests are highly encouraged this winter to adjust their skiing/snowboarding habits. We anticipate reaching our daily capacities on weekends and holidays. Taking advantage of modified school and work schedules to ski/snowboard on non-peak days will ensure you have the best possible experience.
On capacity days, Skiing and snowboarding guests will need to be prepared to show parking staff either a valid 2020/2021 Season Pass or a day pass confirmation to park at Sundance.
On non-capacity days, guests will be allowed to access Sundance without a day pass confirmation. Guests are highly encouraged to check the Ticket Availability Calendar before coming to the resort.
Due to decreased capacity in our buildings, please plan to be self-sufficient. We encourage ALL guests to locker out of their vehicle this winter. This will need to be accomplished while not taking more than one parking spot.
Since reservations will be required for most activities, please plan ahead and arrive at the resort at least 30 minutes prior to your reservation.
Sundance will continue to operate guest shuttles from the upper parking lot to the base area. We will operate at a reduced capacity and face coverings will be required while riding the shuttle. Shuttles will be disinfected regularly.
UTA bus service to Sundance will run this winter under the UTA COVID-19 protocol. They have added additional up and down route times. Please see here for schedule and routes.
Sundance season pass holders will not be required to make reservations for skiing this winter. Season pass holders will continue to have access on a first-come, first-served basis based on parking capacity. However, if parking capacity is met, season pass holders could be turned away. As always, we highly encourage season pass holders to arrive early, utilize the UTA bus, and avoid peak business days when possible.
Sundance Mountain Resort Lodging guests who booked the Stay and Ski Free package will not be restricted and will have access to the mountain on any day.
Day passes will be sold exclusively through www.sundanceresort.com and Liftopia.com. Capacity will be controlled through these platforms.
SMO will operate on a reservation-only system for equipment rentals this winter. Reservation time slots will be 30-minute increments and will have a limited capacity. Guests will have the option of making a reservation at SMO at the base, or SMO 2.0 in the upper parking lot. Since rental reservations are required, guests are strongly encouraged to plan their timing for rental arrangements and activities.
Guests will be required to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the shop. All guests and staff will be required to wear a face covering while in SMO.
Guests will be required to check in for rentals. Upon entering, the guest or family group will be greeted by an employee. The reservation will be verified, and the guest or group will be required to answer a standard COVID-19 health screening questionnaire. They will then be directed to the check in kiosk and assisted by next available rental specialist
Guests who need assistance with retail purchases only, will be directed to the retail area provided the shop has capacity at that time.
Guest capacity in SMO will be limited. Guests may experience longer wait times based on capacity and demand. Guests who are not willing to abide by the regulations will be asked to leave.
All rental equipment will be sanitized after each use.
Sundance will offer private and group lessons this season by reservation only. Reservations must be made on-line at www.sundanceresort.com 24 hours in advance. Reservations will be available starting early November 2020.
All guests and staff will be required to wear a face covering while in the Snowsports facilities. Face coverings will also be required while in the lift line, when loading, riding, and off-loading the lift, and when physical distancing is not possible.

Group lessons will be available for ages 6+. Student to instructor ratios will be adjusted this season to the following:

Lift lines will be spaced in a way to maintain physical distancing.
Face coverings will be required for all guests in the lift line, and while loading and unloading the lifts.
Sanitizer stations will be available at all lift loading stations. Guests are strongly encouraged to sanitize before loading the lift.
Lift Operators will be loading families and groups that are comfortable riding together. We will not require guests to ride lifts with parties they are not comfortable riding with. Due to these efforts, guests should expect longer lift lines than normal.
Guests should familiarize themselves with the lift loading and unloading process. We recommend guests unfamiliar with ski lifts observe the loading/unloading processes and ask operators for instructions where needed.
Handle Tow
Due to COVID-19 and the specific need to decrease overcrowding at the Handle Tow area, we will be modifying Handle Tow operations this winter. Handle Tow operations will be split between Sundance Snowsports lessons and public hours.
Handle Tow PUBLIC HOURS: Friday and Saturday evenings 4:30 – 8:00 pm.
We recommend guest purchase Handle Tow tickets in advance from www.sundanceresort.com or www.liftopia.com.

Please thoroughly review the Mountain Safety page at www.sundanceresort.com. Ski Patrol and first aid services will remain as posted, however, please be aware of the following considerations due to COVID-19.
Due to person-to-person safety concerns, all guests and staff need to be as prepared and self-sufficient as possible when skiing/snowboarding at Sundance this winter.
Guests need to come prepared for all weather conditions. This includes having items like waterproof clothing, handwarmers, etc. and being able to locker out of vehicles.
Guests need to stay within their ability when riding on the hill. Guests need to be able to evaluate terrain and their abilities in order to reduce the need for courtesy transports from Ski Patrol.
Injuries and guest needs will be evaluated by a triage system designed to minimize the amount of guest traffic through Ski Patrol Aid Room. Efforts will be made to transport injured guests straight to their personal vehicle when possible and appropriate.
Masks will be required before treatment is provided. If the guest is unable to apply the mask him/herself, it will be applied by the Ski Patroller first on scene.
Reservations for all Nordic Center activities are strongly recommended and those guests with reservations will have priority. Reservations are available for daily activities and programs.
Guests will be required to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the Nordic Center yurt. All guests and staff will be required to wear a face covering while in the yurt and at the base area, and maintain appropriate physical distancing while in the yurt and on the trails.
Capacity in the yurt will be limited. Guests may experience longer wait times based on capacity and demand. Guests may choose to wait in their vehicles. Guests who are not willing to abide by the regulations will be asked to leave.
Nordic Center guests will be asked to locker out of their vehicles. No personal belongings or equipment will be allowed to be stored in the yurt. Lodging guests and walk-ins will be asked to store items in sanitized bins provided in the Nordic Shop.
Season pass holders with their own equipment must check in on their first visit to confirm validation of their current season pass waiver. On future visits, they may then proceed directly to the trail system without having to enter the yurt. Day pass reservations without rentals will be processed outside of the yurt.
Group lesson sizes will be limited to a maximum of 6 participants per class/single instructor. An exception of up to 8 participants can be made for families or groups who are quarantining together.
All rental equipment is sanitized by staff after each use. Guests are asked to not bring any personal equipment into the yurt.
