Celebrate the summer solstice at Sundance with a free yoga class on Ray’s lawn and refreshments from the Sundance Food Truck. The Art Studio will be there for mala bracelet making ($16), and Kids Camp will be hosting activities. Free Lululemon apparel to the first 50 people, with a Sundance raffle after yoga. This annual event is extremely popular, so we recommend arriving early for a spot.

Join Vicki Overfelt, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Teacher, and Brent Burnham, RYT, for a special day-long immersion in mindful living. Begin your day with an exploration of sitting meditation and restorative yoga. Follow this with a chairlift ride to the summit to take in spectacular views and enjoy lunch at Bearclaw Cabin. Your mindful exploration will continue with a guided hike and walking meditation instruction on the Sundance trails. Let the beauty of the day soak in with a visit to the Spa, where you will enjoy a rejuvenating Evergreen Massage.

Short break to prepare for the hike. Apply sunscreen, fill your water bottle, and take care of any other needs you may have before you begin. Please meet at Ray’s Lift prepared to hike by 11:00.

Meet at Ray’s Lift at 11:15. You will enjoy a scenic lift ride up Ray’s and Arrowhead Lifts to the summit of Sundance. From there, you will proceed to Bearclaw Cabin for lunch.

The Timpanogos Transformation retreat will forever change the way you view and approach life! Far too many people have become disconnected from the earth and our environment. Native American people have known about the healing aspects of Mother Earth for centuries, and unfortunately much of this knowledge has been ignored or forgotten in modern day life.
Join Brent Burnham, Kim Dastrup and Siraj Paletta for the retreat of a lifetime!
Our journey begins with a morning gathering to set a personal intention and sacred flame activity. Followed by a lift ride to Bear Claw summit for morning meditation and sun salutation yoga practice surrounded by breathtaking views of the Wasatch Mountains. A delightful brunch will be served with a brief discussion on mindful eating prior to our lift ride back down to base.
The journey continues with an introduction to the Ute relationship to the horse as a spirit animal as we embark on a mindful journey through the beautiful autumn forest arriving at our gathering place in the meadow.
A Native American smudging ceremony and offering to the seven sacred directions will be offered in our standing circle before forming our seated circle. We will then learn about the medicine wheel/sacred hoop teachings for living a life of balance, harmony and right relationship to all things in creation (Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ).
Using the talking stick, participants will have the opportunity to share, speak from the heart of what is being let go and what will be taken from the circle asking for guidance with a commitment to nurture self and earth. Become acquainted with the Rock People, choosing a stone for guidance back home.
Departing the meadow on horseback, we will gather at the resort for a nurturing, restorative yoga practice followed with by a reflection of the days events.

12:30 p.m. – Horseback ride to meadow for Medicine Wheel Journey. Learn about the Ute relationship with the horse as a spirit friend.
1:00 p.m. – “Circle Up” Standing Circle with smudging and offering to the seven sacred directions.
Seated Circle Introduction to Medicine Wheel/Sacred Hoop teachings for living a life of Balance and harmony, in right relationship with all things in creation. Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ – Native American concept of good and bad medicine, life being a continual “ beginning again”, life as a gift to be treated with gratitude and respect, ceremony as essential way of connecting with that which is sacred and remembering our place in the Universal Circle of life.
Closing the Circle Use of “talking stick”, sharing time, speaking from the heart of what is being let go, what is being taken from Circle, asking for guidance in committing to nurturing self and earth; teaching a Medicine Wheel daily practice using arm gesture. Get acquainted with the rock people and choosing a stone as a companion for the journey home.
3:00 p.m. – Horseback ride back to Sundance
4:00 p.m. – Moving Mindfulness meditation practice, conclusions and discussion.

Information on the Instructors:
Brent Burnham is a yoga Yoga Alliance 200 hr. Certified instructor with over 500 hours of training in Yoga as a Therapeutic Tool and Restorative Yoga practices and the Art of Mindfulness. He also holds an M.S Degree from the University if Utah in Counseling Psychology.
Siraj Paletta/ White Eagle Woman is a student, a Medicine helper and caretaker of the sacred knowledge of traditional medicine ways of several Native American tribes, She is of Abenaki (Algonquin) ancestry, is an “adopted” sister of a Navaho-Cheyenne elder, and has a “family connection” with the Southern Utes that she cherishes, Siraj is a mind/body/ spirit integrative therapist in private practice in Park City.
Kim Dastrup Kim has been a prominent yoga instructor in Salt Lake City since 2003, and currently teaches at 21st Yoga with some of her favorite colleagues. She teaches a style of yoga true to the tradition and spirit of an ancient and sacred practice. Her classes are suffused with intelligence, creativity, and compassion derived from her years of teaching and extensive training with some of the greatest teachers across the country. Kim leads retreats world-wide in Italy, Ireland and Kauai to name a few.
