Electric Horseman Helicopter Fly Days

Watch a major milestone in the Electric Horseman lift project as helicopters transport lift tower footings and project materials from the Mountain Camp area to the mountain.

Wednesday, Sept 9: The helicopter will be flying towers and tower components.

-Red’s & Stairway: Both lifts will be closed for the day between noon and approximately 2 p.m.

-Biking/Hiking Trails: Closure starting at Noon

Thursday, Sept 10:  The helicopter will be flying towers and tower components.

-Helicopter work: Starts at 7 a.m.

-Lifts: All lifts will operate as normal.

-Biking/Hiking Trails: All day closure, see list below

Helicopter Viewing Opportunities:

-Ridge Road above Lot C: Park in Lot E and walk up Ridge Road along the east barricade. Please do not park on Ridge Road or block traffic, it remains an active roadway.

-Mandan Summit: This should provide a good viewing location Wednesday afternoon.

-Bearclaw Cabin: On Thursday, guests may be able to ride the lifts to Bearclaw Cabin to watch the work. This will depend on Wednesday’s progress, and we will let everyone know if delays make this unavailable.

Bike Trail Closures: Diamond Back, Upper Expert, Switchback Alley, Sunnyside Way, Draw, Wildwood, Scott’s Pond, Boneyard, Archies Loop, Mtn. Camp Express, and Walking Path to Base.

Hiking Trail Closures: Pahneekavets and Walking Path to Base for Lot D.
