The Creative Retreat

Book Your Stay

Quiet mornings. Hands in motion.

For travelers who feel most restored when they are making, noticing, wandering, and wondering, Sundance offers a retreat shaped by art as much as mountain air. This itinerary leaves space for inspiration to arrive quietly: in the artifacts along the walls, the curve of clay on a wheel, the sound of the creek, a live set at The Owl Bar, or a handmade piece carried home at the end. It reflects Sundance’s year-round connection to art, nature, recreation, and soul: creativity rooted in place, never rushed, never ordinary.

Season: Any
Pace: Reflective, hands-on, lightly active

Day 1: Find Your Way Back to Inspiration

Arrive with no agenda beyond noticing what catches your eye.

4:00 PM – Arrive at The Inn, check in, and let yourself get a little sidetracked by the art and artifacts lining the walls. Art lives everywhere here, and half the fun is happening upon it.

5:30 PM – Settle into The Living Room with a glass of wine, a sketchbook, or simply the intention to slow down.

7:00 PM – Dinner at The Tree Room, where conversation tends to stretch pleasantly past dessert.

Day 2: Make Something With Your Hands

Let the day move between craft, curiosity, and mountain air.

8:00 AM – Fuel up at Foundry Grill before heading into a day designed around creativity, curiosity, and fresh mountain air.

10:00 AM – Art Studio class time. Try wheel throwing, silversmithing, painting, or printmaking. Choose your medium and see where it takes you.

1:00 PM – Lunch at The Deli, followed by an unhurried afternoon wandering the trails, browsing the General Store, or drawing by the creek.

4:00 PM – Join a wellness class in the studio space, from yoga to meditation or breathwork, depending on the season.

7:30 PM – Cocktails and live music at The Owl Bar. Sundance has always had a way of attracting storytellers.

Day 3: Bring a Little Sundance Home

One final morning for coffee, gallery wandering, and whatever wants to come with you.

8:30 AM – Coffee in bed or breakfast downstairs. No wrong answer.

10:00 AM – Make one last stop through the Art Gallery before checkout. You will probably leave with something handmade, possibly by you.

Where To Stay: The Inn

Unwind and connect in the center of it all. With mountain views, a flowing creek, and immediate access to dining, art, and outdoor experiences, The Inn offers a seamless blend of energy and ease, designed for days well spent and evenings well savored.

Optional Ways to Personalize This Stay

For more creativity: Add a second Art Studio class, try a medium you have never worked with before, or schedule time afterward to keep sketching, writing, or refining your piece.

For writers: Bring a notebook to The Living Room, claim a quiet corner by the creek, or use the morning hours for uninterrupted pages before the day begins.

For more restoration: Add a spa treatment, book a breathwork or meditation class, or leave an afternoon open for reading, wandering, and doing very little beautifully.

For couples: Choose a shared class, browse the Art Gallery together, then end the day with live music and cocktails at The Owl Bar.

For collectors: Spend extra time in the Art Gallery and General Store, looking for pieces that carry the texture, color, and character of the mountain.

For more time outside: Pair the Art Studio with a scenic lift ride, a short hike, or a creekside walk so the day feels shaped by both handwork and fresh air.
