Grand Opening MLK Weekend!

We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of the long-awaited Mountain Camp Day Lodge, just in time for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend! Strategically located at the upper parking lots near Jake’s Lift, this state-of-the-art facility is the cornerstone of the Mountain Camp transformation.

Join us for a celebration on Friday, January 17, 2024 from 3 – 7 PM with a Rail Jam, Live Music/DJ, Dancing, Fire Pits, Free Food & Drinks, plus several great raffle prizes!

The Mountain Camp Day lodge itself designed to enhance the day skier experience, blending convenience, comfort, and the signature rustic charm Sundance Resort is known for. Here’s what you can look forward to:

Prime Location

Strategically situated adjacent to the expanded upper parking areas near Jake’s Lift, the Mountain Camp Day Lodge serves as the perfect starting point for your skiing and riding. Its proximity to Jake’s Lift allows for effortless transitions from lodge to lift, enabling you to maximize your time on the slopes. Jake’s Lift opens at 8:45 AM, allowing guests who start their day at Mountain Camp a head start to the back mountain or the ability to cruise down to Outlaw Express in time for opening at 9 AM.

Mountain Camp Cafe

Recharge between runs at our newest dining outlet, offering a selection of delicious food and beverages to keep you energized throughout the day. Don’t miss:

• Full Lunch Menu: Bowls, wraps, sandwiches, salads and several side options round out a menu with a wide range of options.
• Lunch Specials: A rotating special for $10 will be available daily – grab a bite to eat here for heading back down to the valley!
• Breakfast Specials: Early risers can enjoy $5 breakfast specials, as well as a full breakfast menu, plus hot drinks available throughout the day.
• Beer Specials: Grab a cold one at the end of the day for just four bucks!
• Open Late on Night Skiing Nights. Start and end your day at the Mountain Camp Cafe – we’ll be here to serve you and your group!

Tickets, Rentals & Retail

The lodge is equipped with a variety of amenities tailored to meet the diverse needs of our guests:

• Mountain Camp Sports: Find demo skis and top-of-the-line snowboards at the Day Lodge. Whether you’re a seasoned skier or a beginner, our on-site rental shop offers a wide selection of high-quality equipment to suit all skill levels.
• Ticket Office: Streamline your visit by purchasing lift tickets directly at the lodge, allowing for a hassle-free start to your day.
• Snowsports School: For those looking to refine their skills, the Day Lodge serves as the home base for our ski school, providing easy access to lessons and instructional programs.
• Locker Rooms: Spacious and secure lockers provide a convenient space to store your gear.
• Ski Patrol Access: Safety is paramount, and the lodge provides direct access to our ski patrol services, ensuring prompt assistance when needed.

A Space with Purpose and Sustainability

The Mountain Camp Day Lodge is not just a hub for convenience; it’s a testament to thoughtful design and sustainability. Upcycled materials play a central role in the lodge’s construction and decor, making it as eco-friendly as it is beautiful. Reclaimed wood from around the resort has been transformed into stunning tabletops, adding warmth and character to the space. The lighting fixtures are a work of art, crafted from glass blown on-site to reflect the resort’s commitment to local craftsmanship and sustainable practices.

The opening of the Mountain Camp Day Lodge marks a new era for day skiers at Sundance Mountain Resort. With the majority of parking located at Mountain Camp, including the 200+ new spots added over the last two summers, consolidating essential services and amenities in one convenient location enhances the overall guest experience. Mountain Camp is the ideal hub for all your skiing activities.

Improvements to the day skiing experience don’t end at the new Day Lodge, though. The removal of Jake’s mid-station, along with last year’s road reroute, has eliminated previous interruptions, allowing for uninterrupted top-to-bottom skiing.
