Hiking
Immerse yourself in this mountain landscape.
Sundance Resort offers over 20 miles of alpine hiking trails for anyone ranging from beginner to expert. There's no better way to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the mountain. Consult our trail map for the full overview of summer hiking trails (separate from mountain bike trails—please stick to the paths labeled for hiking to stay safe). Get to know a few favorite ways to explore the mountain on foot.
Each hike highlighted here requires use of the chairlift to start your hike from the top of the mountain. Our lifts begin spinning at 10 AM during the summer time. You can purchase your lift tickets in advance online. Please stay on designated trails, practice "Leave No Trace" principles while hiking, carry water to hydrate, and consider the weather forecast before departing. Be advised you may encounter wildlife during your hike.
Pro tip: we suggest timing your outing around a lunch on the mountaintop deck of Bearclaw Cabin. There's nothing like the flavor of 360-degree alpine views.
