Sundance Mountain Resort and Utah Valley University Present “The Wizard of Oz”
Sundance Mountain Resort announces “The Wizard of Oz” for the 2025 Sundance Summer Theatre production, in partnership with Utah Valley University School of the Arts.
The 2025 season marks 18 years of collaboration between the two organizations, bringing the best of Broadway to life in a spectacular mountain setting.
This beloved tale, in which a Kansas farm girl travels “over the rainbow” to discover the magical power of home, has entertained audiences for generations. The production will feature the songs of the iconic MGM film including “Over the Rainbow,” “Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead),” “If I Only Had a Brain/a Heart/the Nerve,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard,” and “The Merry Old Land of Oz.”
“The stunning backdrop of Mt Timpanogos against the Sundance Resort stage is the perfect setting for this musical,” says Mari Turner, Director of Programming & Art at Sundance Mountain Resort. “Join Dorothy and her friends on a vibrant adventure that celebrates friendship, courage, and the power of dreams-it’s a musical you won’t want to miss!”
Thanks to its natural setting amongst old-growth pines, the Sundance Amphitheater has been rated one of the “10 Best Outdoor Theatre Experiences in the Country” by Fodor’s Travel Guide. Shows begin July 17th and run through August 9th on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 8:00 PM. Due to the popularity of this title, a Tuesday night has been added on August 5th.
Group sales of 40 or more tickets go on sale March 4th and must be purchased by calling 866-734-4428. Individual tickets go on sale April 28thand range $30-$56.
