Here at the Art Studio, a perfect fusion of artistry and conservation come to life. Master glassblowers transform molten discarded glass into art pieces, vases, wine glasses, dinner plates, or pitchers. The glass used comes from all over the resort—our bars, restaurants, and the like—and, once remade, can be reused all around the resort. You can also purchase or commission a special keepsake made of this beautifully renewed glass.

For over two decades, the Sundance Resort Art Studio and Gallery has been home to a unique recycled glass program, where these skilled artisans transform discarded glass into exquisite works of art.
Sundance Resort incorporates these Guadalajaran masterpieces throughout the property. From the Owl Bar and the Tree Room to lodging units, guests can enjoy unique glass pieces, further immersing themselves in the artistic spirit of Sundance Resort.
With environmental care and a commitment to art at its core, our recycled glass program demonstrates that repurposing can be a transformative and beautiful process.

Meet the Artisans
Master Glassblower, Gustavo Calderon & Team
Gustavo learned about the traditional Guadelajaran art of glassblowing around the age of 12. He says he was captivated the first time he saw someone blow glass, thinking to himself, "I'm home." He's brought that sense of belonging and beauty to Sundance Mountain Resort for more than 20 years.
Alongside Gustavo, Juan David Reyes Mora and Octavio Flores Barrera serve as resident artisans here at the Art Studio.
