Leaning Into Shoulder Season

As the winter snow melts into spring, Sundance Mountain Resort heads into a “shoulder season” between ski runs and hiking trails. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, this transitional period offers the best of both worlds. From enjoying some of the best fly fishing conditions of the year to getting some well-deserved R&R at our new Springs amenity, there is always a way to connect with art and nature at the resort. Whether you're drawn to the rhythmic dance of the Provo River's "Golden Hour," seeking solace in the rejuvenating waters of The Springs, or igniting your creative spirit at the Sundance Art Studio and Gallery, there's an undeniable allure to the shoulder season. Embrace this moment of quietude and renewal and savor the magic of Sundance, where adventure and relaxation converge in perfect harmony.

The Art of Recycled Glass at Sundance

In the heart of Sundance Mountain Resort lies a hidden gem that not only showcases artistic brilliance, but also embodies the resort's commitment to conservation. For over two decades, the Sundance Art Studio and Gallery have been home to a unique recycled glass program, where skilled glass blowers from Guadalajara, Mexico, transform discarded glass into exquisite works of art. This remarkable initiative aligns seamlessly with our core values of art, community, and nature, making it a shining example of the intersection of environmental responsibility and creativity. With environmental care and a commitment to art at its core, our recycled glass program demonstrates that repurposing can be a transformative and beautiful process. Each recycled blown glass piece not only tells a tale of renewal, but also contributes to Sundance’s ongoing commitment to responsible living.

Explore Creativity with the Sundance Visiting Artist Program

Here at Sundance, a value for the arts is at the very core of who we are. From day one, Sundance has not only captivated visitors with its stunning natural beauty, but also strived to enrich the cultural experience through creativity. At the heart of this initiative lies the Sundance Art Studio, a haven for local Utah artists to showcase their talents and connect with a community that values art, nature, and camaraderie. Through our unique Visiting Artist Program, we explore diverse mediums, host engaging events, and display the seamless integration of art and nature. At the epicenter of this artistic endeavor is the Sundance Art Studio, an enchanting space that serves as a canvas for local Utah artists each month. The studio curates a selection of artwork, ranging from framed pieces to captivating prints, showcasing a rich tapestry of mediums. From oil paintings to photography, watercolor to collage, the diversity of artistic expression is on full display, providing guests with a visually stimulating and culturally enriching experience.

Classes at the Sundance Art Studio

The arts have always been the cornerstone of Sundance, and our Art Studio is a unique offering at the resort that you won’t find in most other places. Nestled underneath Mount Timpanogos, the Art Studio offers a creative outlet for guests to design their own works of art. The gallery portion of the studio displays work of talented local artists — a new artist and medium is showcased every month. One of the standout features of the Art Studio, however, is the variety of art classes and workshops that are offered. Art Studio Classes are a 2 hour experience where guests learn a craft, then create a piece themselves, taking away a lasting memory of their Sundance visit. Our wide variety of single-session workshops include jewelry making, wheel-thrown pottery, journal making, soapmaking, watercolor, acrylic painting, printmaking and drawing. Each of our classes are taught by experienced instructors who provide guidance and support every step of the way.
