New Terrain This Season

Forty New Acres to Explore

Exciting Fresh Terrain Awaits at Sundance This Season

It doesn’t get better than 40 new acres of Utah skiing, 15 of which are groomed and ready for you to carve your own signature into. With 5 beginner runs, 4 intermediate runs, and 1 advanced run, there’s new Sundance Resort ski terrain for every level of experience this season.

Access our 10 new runs via a 7 minute ride up our brand new Wildwood lift at the top of Jake’s. The new terrain sits on a south-facing portion of the mountain, so it’s a great place to ski in the mornings if you’re looking to stay warm!

The 10 runs at the top of Wildwood aren’t the only thing new this year, though – skiers can also take a little trip across the all-new Red’s Canyon from midway Outlaw over to Jake’s for a fresh adventure between familiar territories.

New Adventures Steeped in Rich History

Sundance Mountain Resort has always been built on stories, and we wanted this new ski terrain to foster the full Sundance experience – wrapped in history, influenced by art, and brimming with adventure. The Wildwood lift is named after the Wildwood community at the base of Sundance Canyon, and was also the name of Robert Redford’s film company – a nod to the local culture and long history of artistic inspiration that’s been the heartbeat of this canyon for decades.

Hot Bread and Honey Butter, two of the new runs on the south face of the mountain, pay homage to an old favorite menu item at the Summer Theatre. Long before that, though, when the Foundry Grill was still called the Skier Cafe, skiers would stop in for a slice of hot bread and honey butter. These two runs are inspired by the nostalgic feeling of home that comes from an old comfort food at the end of a long day on the mountain.
Perhaps a more obvious nod to Sundance’s story is the Bluebird run – a nod not only to bluebird ski days, but to the long partnership between Sundance Resort and the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. Every year we host several Bluebird Cafe Concert Series on the mountain, so it was a no-brainer to name one of our new blue runs after this rich Sundance tradition.
