You Can’t Beat ​​Horseback Riding in Utah

Join us at the Sundance Stables and saddle up for one of the most scenic horseback rides you can take in the surrounding area! The Stewart Falls Trail Ride is by far our most popular. Your ride will begin at our The Stables at Sundance Resort and take you to a viewpoint of Stewart Falls, a spectacular 200-foot waterfall on the east side of Mount Timpanogos — a must-see for northern Utah visitors! Normally you’d take a three-mile hike to see Stewart Falls, but this way your trusty mountain horse will do the climbing for you! 

Your guides from Rocky Mountain Outfitters will accompany you for the whole journey, but this isn’t your typical nose-to-tail guided horseback ride. Enjoy the mountain like a true western cowboy with a more relaxed, independent experience! Instead of staring at the rear of a horse for two hours, you’ll be enjoying panoramic views of the Wasatch mountains. You’re welcome.

The ride lasts about two hours round trip and is great for beginners, as long as they meet the minimum age requirement of 12 years old. Horseback riding in Utah is a breathtaking adventure your family will remember for years to come! 

Staying at Sundance for a romantic getaway? Sunset rides are also available! Experience a scene from a fairytale storybook and ride out as the sun sets west of the Wasatch front.

Take the Family on a Zipline Adventure

Our famous Zip Tours are loved by thrill-seekers and chill-seekers alike — you are in control of your speed! Fly up to 65 miles per hour or stop mid-air and take in the unbelievable views. You’ll go on a series of four zip line spans, each with two cables allowing you to ride side-by-side with friends and family members on parallel tracks.

The Sundance ZipTour is one of the most astonishing and scenic ZipTours in the world with over 2,100 feet of vertical drop — the most of any zipline tour in the United States! For guests looking for a mountain adventure for families to take part in together, it’s hard to beat this experience. The Sundance ZipTour is a two-in-one activity, as you get to take a scenic lift ride up the Outlaw Express & Red’s lifts before flying back down the mountain. 

When you arrive at the resort you’ll get set up at the bottom of the mountain, sign waivers, and do a brief training on using your ZipTour equipment properly and safely. From there, your two-mile journey through the air will take approximately two to three hours — and trust us, the time will fly as fast as you do! Seeing Sundance and majestic Mount Timpanogos from the sky is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Want to enjoy some midnight mountain magic? (Well, almost midnight – the last ride begins at 10:30 p.m.) Our Full Moon ZipTour is an abbreviated but extraordinary version of this adventure in the sky. You’ll take a scenic full moon lift ride on the Outlaw Express and then fly the Outlaw span of the ZipTour — 3,871 feet of soaring — as you enjoy the moonlit scenery and the stars overhead. We recommend this adventure for an unforgettable date night!
