August 25: Seth Ennis, Caitlyn Smith, Gordie Sampson
A proud Georgia boy, Seth is a seasoned traveler and singer-songwriter with an eclectic brand of country music inspired by artists like Vince Gill and Usher. As the son of a military colonel, he honed his craft traveling base to base with his family around the country. He began piano at the age of five and by 13 was playing drums, guitar and writing his own material. He spent his teens and early twenties touring before landing a deal with Sony Music Nashville. Seth then broke onto the scene with his 2016 single “Woke Up in Nashville,” which has drawn comparison to artists like Lee Brice and Hunter Hayes.
Caitlyn Smith was raised in a small town in Minnesota and grew up singing at church and country fairs. She wrote her first song at eight years old and released two records before high school, firmly establishing her path as an artist. After a stint in Minneapolis, Caitlyn become one of Nashville’s most prized writers, composing songs for years for everyone from Dolly Parton to Garth Brooks. In addition to an extensive songwriting catalog, Caitlyn has also toured with Eric Church, Cheryl Crow and Dierks Bentley. Her latest album, “Starfire,” is available now.
Gordie Sampson is a Canadian-born singer-songwriter who has been performing since his teens. His unique style brings together a fusion of traditional Celtic music, rock’n’roll and country. After winning three East Coast Music Awards, Gordie and his family moved to Nashville where he co-wrote the hit “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” performed by Carrie Underwood. He has since written for Faith Hill, Trace Adkins, Martina McBride and Willie Nelson. In addition to this impressive list, he has also recorded three more solo albums since his 1998 debut, which have been nominated for numerous awards.
