SUNDANCE, UTAH (November 25, 2008)—Sundance Resort was recognized for its environmental efforts and initiatives by Preferred Hotel Group’s GIFTTS program. As a result of this award, the Ueberroth Family Foundation, owners of Preferred Hotels, will be donating $5,000 to the charities or organizations supported by each of the hotels that excelled in the categories of Community, Environment and Philanthropy as a measure of support for each hotel or resort’s commitment to giving back. The donation on behalf of the Sundance Resort will benefit the Sundance Preserve’s environmental efforts.
The award was given at Preferred Hotel’s 2008 Annual conference on Nov. 3, 2008, at San Diego’s Grand Del Mar resort where 250 attendees, comprised of member hoteliers, Preferred Hotel Group executives, and alliance partners conference attendees met and celebrated “luxury with purpose.”
Member hotels and partners were honored who have made a positive impact through significant philanthropic, community and environmental endeavors. Presiding over the GIFTTS Recognition Ceremony were Brooke Ueberroth, Vice President, Communications, and Sarah Clark, Vice President, Marketing.
Sundance Resort was recognized for its environmental initiatives for the commitment of its employee Green Team and for the resort’s purchase of enough renewable energy to offset 100% of the resort’s energy usage.
“Sundance Resort is honored to be recognized by this esteemed award regarding our commitment to environmental initiatives and for recognizing the commitment of our employees environmental efforts to make Sundance and our larger global community a greener place,” commented Chad Linebaugh, Sundance Co General Manager.
