Sundance Resort Presents the Second Annual Food and Wine Festival To Benefit the Sundance Preserve Featuring Top Area Restaurants and Sundance Label Wine Vintners

(Sundance, Utah) July, 2007...The Sundance Resort will present its Second Annual Food and Wine Festival, September 1st, 2007, from noon until 4 pm, on the resort’s lawn at the base of Mt. Timpanogos in Provo Canyon. The event will feature the best in food and wine and will include a roster of top restaurants and the featured vintners of Sundance’s Celebrating Wine as Art program. Admission is $65 and includes access to all vintner and restaurant booths. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sundance Preserve, a non profit organization, committed to maintaining the balance of art, nature and community.

“I am glad to announce the Second Annual Sundance Food Wine Festival. This should be another year of great food, fun and friends,”commented Fred Johnson, Sundance Co General Manager. “This event was very popular last year and sold out faster that we had expected. The Food and Wine Festival is a great way to come and enjoy Sundance and at the same time help to preserve this wonderful area. This event has proven to be a very good fund-raiser for the Sundance Preserve. Please join me for another fantastic day of festivities and friends celebrating Food and Wine as Art.”

The Sundance Food and Wine Festival is an outgrowth of Sundance’s Celebrating Wine as Art program that was established in 2004, in which the resort partnered with distinctive vintners who exemplify an aspect of the Sundance values and mission, including the commitment to environment, the celebration of independent voice and spirit, and creativity.

The Food and Wine Festival showcases the vintners of the Sundance Label Wine Program, which include Mer Soleil, Sundance Late Harvest Viognier; Bethel Heights, Sundance Redford Reserve, Justice Vineyard Pinot Noir; Selby Winery , Sundance Chardonnay; Judd’s Hill Winery, Sundance Merlot; Honig Winery, Sundance Sauvignon Blanc; Belle Glos Winery, Sundance Pinot Noir; and Altamura Winery, Sundance Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition to these vintners the Festival will also feature the wines of Hagafen Winery and Caymus Winery.

Restaurants participating in the Food and Wine Festival are the award-winning Sundance restaurants, Tree Room, Foundry Grill, and Zoom in Park City, as well as Lugano, Monsoon Thai Restaurant, Pine Restaurant, The Paris, Tony Caputo’s Market and Deli, Bangkok Thai, among others.

Each year a talented artist is chosen to present their interpretation of the Sundance Wine program and festival. This year gifted artist Linda Tay’nahza’, whose bold, simplistic, yet sophisticated images have garnered national and international recognition, is the featured artist. Tay’nahza’s use of rich colors and bold image aptly captures the spirit and soulfulness of Sundance’s wine program, as well as the Food and Wine Festival.

In presenting this event, Sundance is again partnering with Salt Lake Magazine. Other sponsors include Ken Garff Jaguar, Pepsi, Sysco and Park City Roasters.

A silent auction to benefit the Sundance Preserve will feature opportunities to bid on items that include a VIP tasting tour, lunch for four, and six bottles of wine, donated by Honig Vineyard and Winery; a VIP tour, tasting for eight, and a magnum of wine, donated by Judd’s Hill Winery; a $100 gift certificate donated by Wasatch Pub; a $100 gift certificate donated by Squatters Pub; a framed storytime print, donated by renowned graphic artist, Michael Schwab, who also did the artwork for last year’s Food and Wine Festival and the Celebrating Wine as Art program; several jewelry pieces designed by jeweler, Liza Sthromberg; an amber necklace, donated by Olga Lubarsky; two prints by artist, September Vhay. Sundance Resort will also be donating a lodging package, an All Season Pass, a Spa package, and a snowboard complete with the artwork from the Food and Wine Festival.
