This series features such noted authors as historian Douglas Brinkley, who will discuss his book, The Boys of Pointe du Hoc: Ronald Reagan, D-Day, and the Heroic Feats of the U. S. Army Rangers; Joseph Ellis, Professor of Mount Holyoke College and author of His Excellency: George Washington; Robert Kennedy, Jr., one of America’s leading environmental attorneys, and author of Crimes Against Nature: How George W. Bush and His Pals are Plundering the Country and Hijacking Our Democracy. David Frum, former special assistant and speech writer to President George W. Bush discusses his book, An End of Evil: How To Win the War on Terror; and political satirist, Al Franken discusses his book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right.

Saturday, March 19th Al Franken, author of Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. Franken, one of the country’s leading political satirist, was also one the original producers, performers and writers for Saturday Night Live, winning five Emmy’s for his work. Largely known for his comedic talent, Franken has also authored, Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations and Why Not Me? The Inside Story of the Making and Unmaking of the Franken Presidency, both of which were New York Times bestsellers.
Saturday, May 21st David Frum, former special assistant and speech writer to President George W. Bush, is a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and a contributing editor of the National Review. His book, An End to Evil: How to Win The War on Terror, charts the agenda for what’s next in the war on terrorism, revealing where America is most vulnerable and outlining tough strategies for unconditional victory.
Saturday, June 25th Douglas Brinkley, author of The Boys of Pointe du Hoc: Ronald Reagan, D-Day, and the Heroic Feats of the U.S. Army Rangers. Brinkley is a regular commentator on National Public Radio and serves as official historian of NBC News. His latest book, The Boys of Pointe du Hoc, is scheduled for release in May 2005. Brinkley is director of the Theodore Roosevelt Center for American Civilization at Tulane University. His recent publications include the New York Times bestseller Tour of Duty: John Kerry and the Vietnam War, Wheels for the World: Henry Ford, His Company and a Century of Progress, and The Mississippi and the Making of a Nation with Stephen E. Ambrose;
Saturday, July 16th Joseph Ellis, author of His Excellency: George Washington, brings to life in all his complexity the most important, and perhaps least understood figure in American history. Ellis is a Professor of History at Mount Holyoke College. Educated at the College of William and Mary and Yale University, he taught at West Point before coming to Mt. Holyoke College in 1972.
